New spelling words. We will also introduce using similes and metaphor in descritive writing.

Design and Tech: Google SketchUp in the computer lab.

This is the Production day in the Lab.

Grade Seven students must produce a single simple model, of a vehicle. The vehicle will be provided in class, and students must measure this and produce an accurate representation of the model. This will include a wheel and axle.

Grade Eight students must make a model of a standard maze. Students may choose the simple maze or the more complicated object; a hydraulic syringe.

Spelling word homework for Monday: Spelling sentences for five of the words. Definitions for all ten words. Please include your source for the definitions. These should be written in your new language notebook, or kept in your language binder.

History: Writing in role from the point of view of First Nations and European explorers. P 17, #1 - in the textbook.

Students started an assignment in Science and Technology today. Full instructions are available on the assignment page.

For parents: the basic homework schedule for homeroom is as follows:

Monday- Spelling
Tuesday- Math
Wednesday- Writing
Thursday - math and spelling test study
Every evening should include at least a half hour of sustained reading.

Friday's Spelling test should come home on Friday to share with parents.

Friday's math test should come home on Monday to share with parents.
