New spelling words given Monday  This is week 4 of the September words.

For parents: the basic homework schedule for homeroom is as follows:

  • Monday- Spelling
  • Tuesday- Math
  • Wednesday- Writing
  • Thursday - math and spelling test study
  • Every evening should include at least a half hour of sustained reading.

Spelling word homework for Monday: Spelling sentences for five of the words. Definitions for all ten words. Please include your source for the definitions. These should be written in your new language notebook, or kept in your language binder.


History: Writing in role from the point of view of First Nations and European explorers. P 17, #1 - in the textbook.

 

Reading journals. Eash student has a reading journal for summary and reflection. Each entry should be at leats one half-half page to a full page. The first paragraph should be a summary of the content of the book. The second paragraph should be a reflection about what you think about the book. You should make connections to other books (text to text), to your personal experience (text to self), to other forms such as a movie (text to media), or to the bigger theme (text to world).
