New spelling words given Monday

For parents: the basic homework schedule for homeroom is as follows:

  • Monday- Spelling
  • Tuesday- Math
  • Wednesday- Writing
  • Thursday - math and spelling test study
  • Every evening should include at least a half hour of sustained reading.

Periods 1 and 2...Room 205

9:00 - 9:40 am
9:40 - 10:20 am

Bottle rocket experiments today. We will launch a series of modified rockets. Each student should have a printed chart recording the distances traveled and the modifications before each launch. Students may modify the air volume, water volume, launch angle and aerodynamic modifications to each rocket.


 

 

Periods 3 and 4 ...Room 32

10:35 - 11:15 am
11:15 - 11:45 am

2:50 - 3:30 pm

We will take up the spelling sentences and definitions. Extra time may be used for free writing.

Spelling word homework from Monday: Spelling sentences for five of the words. Definitions for all ten words. Please include your source for the definitions. These should be written in your new language notebook, or kept in your language binder.

Free story writing.

Students began writing a character-driven story Tuesday. This is a story for free writing and is open-choice. Students may write about whatever they wish, but it must have a well-described character who is the main focus of the story. This is due Friday.
